Har project mei ek Arjun...

Since I was a kid I have always been fascinated by Indian mythology…and the most influential of all was…The Mahabharat…well I could never figure out why it was Mahabharat over the rest….that was until…I realized…it was my destiny to be a part of one of those similar stories…

So one fine sunny day I realized..I am actually cast as a character from mahabharat everyday in office….every project since my IT birth was a mahabharat…and I was always one of the characters…

These years have made me realize one thing for sure…har project mei ….ek Arjun hota hai….(yeah I know most of you reading this would think…you are the chosen one…well…most of us are anyways…chosen for one thing or another….)….toh…har project ka ek arjun…jispe pure project ka bhaaar…pure proj ka karta dharta….project ka hero…though it doesn’t matter…actually piche se koi Krishna banke guide karra hai….ya arjun khud teer chalake machali maar raha hai….arjun is always the hero….

Then there is the pm… fukat hero…eating fukat footage….na kaam…na dhaam…fukat planning….fukat ordering….Kauravas (client…their manager being duryodhan) se jhagda karo..with no one expecting you to win….Pandavas (team members) ki gaaliyan suno…in short… Yudhisthir….

Then there is someone….who makes you feel safe…who is the sole karta dharta of the project from an outsiders point of view….who does all the gadha majduri…as well as …all the crappy work that the pm can’t do…or doesn’t want to do….who never asks questions….can never think of asking questions….coz he has lost the ability to think : )…that’s when you realize…he is Bheem

Then you come across a gyaani…who seems to have done it all…at some stage o f his IT life…and doesn’t want to (actually cannot) do it all again…..who will have his opinions ready at any hour of the day…that’s exactly when you have actually had the honour of meeting Krishn

And there are the delivery managers…relationship managers…resource managers…say what you like…who think they are know all types…who are the decision makers (without logic)….who are the deadline setters with their so called know-all knowledge….who sit back and watch the whole drama unfold before their eyes…who look like they are with the Pandavas…but are actually fighting for the Kauravas…..who are easily identifiable as the Gangaputra Bheeshma and Dronacharyas

And then comes the freshers….Nakul and Sehdev….flowing with the flow…with little concern for anything or everything….

And the similarities just doesn’t end there….there could be 1 draupadi or many..depending on the size of the project :P…who are flocked around by the pandavas and in some cases…kauravas too…

And there could be a Dhrishtadyumna ….who’s whole and sole responsibility is to protect draupadi from the flocks…and who actually is draupadi’s brother but many confuse him to be the would be husband !!!

Duryodhan…the one whom we all have met…and needs no introduction…the one who pays the bills and owns the empire…until is bankrupt after the war (or implementation in simpler words)..

And there is always a Shakuni…the brain behind everyones destruction….

Dhirtarashtra…the one who watches everything in silence…wants to balance things…but doesn’t see the ground reality!

And It could go on and on…Mahabharat had innumerable characters…but I think for each and everyone…there is …a corresponding character in your project….just look around….
